Christopher Ciabarra is an Italian-American businessman and executive with expertise in product development, data security and corporate management. He is the Co-Founder and former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Revel Systems, the award-winning leader in point of sale systems made for iPad. Ciabarra is also an anti-hacking expert and founded Network Intercept, a Los Angeles security software firm. Ciabarra has presented and given expert online security advice across the globe and in front of the United States Department of Homeland Security.

Upon founding Revel Systems with Lisa Falzone in 2010, his team embarked on a mission to revolutionize the point of sale industry. Ciabarra developed the technology behind Revel's iPad POS and led the technological advancements as well as oversee data security of the system while employed at Revel. Ciabarra designed Revel Ethernet Connect and is the only iPad POS provider to offer failover connections between Wi-Fi and Ethernet. In 2016, Revel Systems was named the Leading iPad Point of Sale Company during Apple's Q4 Financial Results Conference Call.

Revel has partnered with retail giants such as Royal Dutch Shell Fuel, Belkin and Goodwill. Some of Revel's clients include: Cinnabon, Smoothie King, Tully's Coffee, Little Caesars Pizza, Legends Hospitality, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, Dairy Queen, Forever Yogurt, and Twistee Treat.

Early life and education

In high school Ciabarra built and sold websites. Ciabarra earned his Bachelor of Science in computer science in 2000 from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. He received his Master of Business Administration in 2004 from Alvernia University.

Career

Ciabarra founded Network Intercept, a security software firm based in Los Angeles. At Network Intercept, he served as president, CEO, and security specialist.

Ciabarra designed Interceptor.net, Scan-on-the-Go Secure, Adrenaline cell phone app, and Nano-stealth. He has worked in the anti-hacker field and with PCI compliance.

In 2010, Ciabarra Co-Founded Revel Systems, based in San Francisco, Ciabarra, being a lifelong entrepreneur, wanted to create a platform that enabled other entrepreneurs to run and scale their own businesses.

Ciabarra is always on the forefront of technology and worked on the production of the Revel Router, Revel Ethernet Connect, and Revel Guard. He was the first person to connect the iPad to Ethernet and print from the iPad, even before Apple.

Ciabarra is a member of Forbes Technology Council, a community for world class CIOs, CTOs and technology executives. Ciabarra is a member of the International Frozen Yogurt Association. He has worked with the Evian Group in their efforts to prevent protectionism and collapse of trade.
